We're excited to see you all at our second Advocacy Series webinar of the year on November 19 from 11:00am - 12:00pm. We’ll be hosting three professionals from the financial aid space to answer questions about their experiences with the New FAFSA and the current financial aid landscape. The more we know about what’s currently happening, the better we can advocate for the changes we’d like to see!

To vote in the election on November 5, 2024, voter registrations or updates to registrations must be received by October 15, 2024.
Different types of registration may have different deadlines, but many are the third Friday preceding an election.
To vote in the election on November 5, 2024, the majority of registration applications by be received by October 18, 2024.
Registration applications must be received at least 25 days prior to an election in order to participate in that election.

In late March, GPACAC members visited the
Capitol Building in Topeka for the Kansas Hill Day.
Sponsored by Senate Minority Leader and Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Education Committee, Dinah Sykes, the group hosted an informational room and met with legislators. Afterwards, members of the group attended a series of meetings with other Education Committee members including House Committee Chair Adam Thomas. It was a valuable opportunity to make further inroads to legislators in Kansas with the hopes of garnering more support for educators in our region.

In late March, members of GPACAC visited
Oklahoma City for this year's Hill Day.
Sponsored by Senator Jo Anna Dossett, the group met with members of the Oklahoma House and Senate to spread awareness about GPACAC and discuss important education issues impacting secondary and post secondary institutions. Later that afternoon, Senator Dossett introduced the group to the full Oklahoma Senate!

Several of our Oklahoma members spent some time at the capitol in OKC in March 2023 advocating for our students!
They had the opportunity to meet with Senator Jo Anna Dossett, Senator Dave Radar, and Representative John Waldron.

In March 2023, a few of our Nebraska members met with Senator Dave Murman, Chair of the Education Committee.
They discussed the cost of education and FAFSA, the importance of mental health support, and staff shortages. They also stopped by the offices of other Education Committee members to spread the word about the great work that GPACAC does. We appreciate the time you spent advocating for students!
