Session Title: Bridging the Gap: Elevating College Access to Rural Communities.
Time: 2:00-3:00pm
Details: We'll focus on our role as educational advocates promoting higher education in rural communities. Our session will include counselors and current Kansas State student experiences to guide us through breaking down stereotypes and misconceptions to feel more confident working with rural populations. We will address how to define a rural community, the specific challenges these communities face, and how to create accessibility to higher education for students, parents, educators, and community members.

Details: Join us for a chat with David Hawkins, NACAC's Chief Education and Policy Officer. Hawkins has been an influential figure in shaping the strategic direction NACAC. His leadership focuses not only on advocating for ethical practices in college admissions but also on tackling broader challenges within U.S. higher education. By representing the collective voice of NACAC members, he's positioned the association to play a key role in transforming the landscape of higher education—addressing issues like access, affordability, and equity.
